So Cute ...

I love this poster (from Hallmark - Baby Products), it reminds me of Baby K and my two siblings (of course, they are both in their thirties now and still look cute. Haha ...).

A Team's Motto

Initially I've decided on "Time Not Enough" as today's post title - it was inspired by a Singapore's movie "Money Not Enough" which depicts on middle-income group living in today's Singapore who have to juggle everyday between "many bills to pay" and "how to be rich".

I've changed the title on second thought, because I don't think the source of my argument is exactly on insufficient time.

Well, my family and friends who know me extremely well, knew that I have different variables to quantify my "richness". Money has never been my major worry, primarily is because I am not after a luxury life, I just need a comfortable life.

Time, however, is a challenging component in my life. Despite my efficiency at tasks I am doing and my good time-management skills, 24 hours is just not enough for me to complete every task I aim to do. I am still reading Rhonda Bryne's "The Secret", and last night in the midst of reading and reflecting, I did a "mid-term review" on things I have done as well as haven't done, and I found that if there was one thing I haven't done enough and that would be I haven't had enough time to sit down and listen to my younger siblings - listening to their successful stories, giving them guidances and advice, sharing jokes, and discussing on future.

Thinking back to the time when we poured baby powder on the floor and pretending it was snowing in Brunei, and we took out my mother's clothings from her wardrobe because we wanted to play cashier and shoppers games, thinking to the time I grabbed their hands to run with me .. time indeed passes by too swiftly. Although I haven't been playing an active sister role, I want my siblings to know that for every decision I make and every step I do, I will never leave any of them behind.

Child Birth Education

My SIL has started to feel mild contractions ie. at 6 minutes interval (the right panel). She could feel baby K is doing an internal rotation.

Family Unit

Unit, Unity, Similarity.

When I was a teenager, there was once my mother had a heated argument with my father over buying fish. To cool both of them down, I suggested: "Papa, why don't you go and buy the fish you mentioned earlier and Mama will buy the fish which she likes. We promise we will finish both fish at dinner."

My clever suggestion! It turned out Papa came back 20 minutes later with the same type of fish that Mama has bought. And the ironic part is both of them have bought same type of fish in the same quantity even though they went in different directions and bought fish from different vendors in the market!

Last December a few days before Christmas, there was once my entire family were eating out in a crowded hawker centre. We group ourselves into 4 teams: Papa and Mama, Woofhams and her husband, my brother and my sister-in-law, then myself. We went in different directions to buy food of our choice. 15 minutes later we returned to the big table with all dumplings!

Although Ching Ming (Grave Cleaning Day) falls on 5th April every year, many families in Brunei carry out the rituals (ie. burning joss sticks and imitation paper money, offering chicken and rice and weeding the area) a week before the real day to avoid traffic congestion at the cemetery. Last Sunday after burning all paper monies for my granduncle (ie. my grandfather's third brother) and with the temperature screaming at 36 degree celcius, all of us were hungry and thirsty.

Papa led the group: Let's go and grab food & drink.
Uncle Bin asked: What do you like to eat?
Papa: Usual.
10 minutes later we arrived at a popular eating place in Kuala Belait (the oil town of Brunei), and waitress asked for our order, Papa and Uncle Bin gave a unified response without hesitation: Chicken rice and Teh si!
