Santa Is Coming To Town

Merry X'mas 2007!!

Merry X'mas & A Hearty Boxing Day to Everyone I Love!!

Ever curious why the day after X'mas day is called a Boxing Day?? Answer: Since middle ages, it is the day when people would give a present or Christmas Box to those who had worked for them throughout the year. That's why, it's called a BOXing day ;-)

Happy Birthday To Our Great Golfer

My sister Woofhams and my brother DK chose the design of Papa's birthday cake this year, and as usual I picked the cake flavour and the wordings. What else, fruit cocktail - my favourite and wordings - Happy Birthday to Papa (I am always such "creative" ... haha!!!).

Baby Precious

Everyone says Baby K looks like a 2mo baby because of his height and chubby cheek, I suppose. He is now getting used to his new environment. He loves to play at night, he sleeps in the morning very soundly. And he wants milk every 90 minutes, 50ml at one go.

He responds well to music, and he loves happy rhythm. His father talks to him when he doesn't want to sleep. His mother sings all kinds of nursery rhymes. His grandparents laughs along when he smiles. His eldest auntie reads him ABC and he airkicks with his hands and feet. When the maid bathes him, he always thanks her by giving her a wide smile and a big kick in the baby bath tub.

It's good to have a baby around in the house, especially when the house smells of Johnson's Baby all the time hahaa ...

What Angels Do On Off Day?

Cinderella

I have a confession to make. I own too many footwears from stilettos, heels to boots and flip flops. I used to own more than 15 pairs of flip flops when I was in Brisbane and I wore flip flops even in winter because Brissie winter is nice & breezy and not icy cold.

One of the problems with me owning too many heels is I tend to wear the same pair that made me feel comfortable. This morning, I have decided to revisit all my shoe boxes and take out those old ones that I haven't worn for a long time.

During the de-cluttering process, I've decided to throw one of my old favourite pairs (but, too worn out to wear anymore). Its nick: Cheers, my love!

This pair looks good on me but my feet hurt like hell at the end of working day. So, I've decided to keep it in "cold storage" for a while. Its nick: Good to see only.

I bought this pair recently - good colour and comfortable to wear. Its nick: On the run .....

This is a new arrival, and I absolutely love the colour! Its nick: Cinderella.

Could You Hear Me?

Mr Scorpio asked me the last time we had lunch together: Have I done something wrong?
Pancake: Yep, you always say "Listen, Listen".
Mr Scorpio: What's wrong with that?
Pancake: You are not wrong, but you've said it to a person who has listened enough and it's timely for her words to be heard too.

A young colleague asked Pancake three weeks ago, "What kind of guy will attract you?"
Pancake: A guy with good ears.
Colleague: Ears?? All of us have ears.
Pancake: Well, not all of us have a pair of good listening ears.

Post Script: Don't call me a feminist, but I don't agree with the latter part of the book title (see enclosed picture) which says "women can't read maps". Even before the invention of GPS, I could read maps faster, better, and point out more accurate routes than my male friends. The phrase would read more appropriately as "women don't like to read maps" especially when there are men who are willing to read for them.

I Want To Be Peter Pan

Bridget Jones Moments: Only 1 mug of coffee today. Submitted a 22 pages manuscript. Ran 50 minutes and burnt 430 calories. Still unhappy.

All of sudden, I miss those days where I shared a big blanket with my younger siblings, munching on popcorns, watching Beverly Hills 90210 together and wishing we were one of them ;)

I've Finally Found Someone

Of course this category would be more ideal -> Grissom-Sara Romance: Compatibility in Character, Chemistry and Communications.

We Could Be In Love

Woofhams: May be Lea Salonga and Brad Kane have the answers (read: MRT or Bullet Train). Could Be. Could Be Not. Might Be. Might Be Not. HaHa ...

Love Me, Love Me Not

A friend called me yesterday afternoon and before I cut our conversation short because of my busy schedule, she accidentally commented, "I am slightly worried about you. You don't seem to decipher hints very well."

"Why you said so?", Pancake asked.

"To begin with, you weren't even aware that the lunch many months ago was purposely arranged for you and my brother", G continued.

Pancake squinted her eyes, and asked, "But your brother didn't say much. He spent one hour telling me his busy life and his big business."

G thought for a while and said, "You've misunderstood him."

Pancake wished that sometimes she can be more discreet in her speech, but there is no room in Pancakeism to permit compromise in relationship. I admit I am stubborn, and particularly stubborn w.r.t. relationship.

Pancake apologised to G, "I will call and thank your brother for the lunch. I am sorry. I have found someone."

G interrupted with a disbelief tone, "Can't be! Who is he??"

Pancake smiled, "He just hasn't found me yet."

How Time Flies

I dropped by the Medical Centre during lunch break to visit my SIL and Baby K. I saw my brother talking to his son as I knocked on the door. It's a strange feeling. 30 years ago, this father was a baby like his son today. When this father was a baby, he refused to drink milk and he didn't like pacifier. On the first day when he came home from hospital, his two sisters, who got chicken pox when he was born, looked at him from the door and asked their mother, "Mama, could we just look at our baby brother for a while, just a while, pleaseeeeee.".

How time flies.

To set record right, I am not usually a crying person. May be my hairstylist is right, I am having harmone imbalance problem now haha ... I got happy tears rolling down my cheek a while ago when I recalled what I saw just now: my baby brother is a grown up man now, and he is a husband to my SIL and he is the father to Baby K.

A Baby Poem by Joanna Fuchs
For my "baby" brother and his wife
See tiny fingers and tiny toes,
Bright baby eyes,
Cute baby nose;
Hear baby gurgles and see baby smiles,
As Mom and Dad sing lullabies.
Life is changed, but that's okay;
It's fun to spend glad hours each day,
Taking time for all the good;
That comes along with parenthood.
